This past spring semester (2025), I had the opportunity to celebrate the release of my book, Drill Rap, Sex Work and the Digital Underground, with a launch event at All Good Books here in Columbia. I just received the video back from the event, and I’m excited to share some highlights.
Special thanks to Dr. Damion Waymer, Director of the School of Journalism and Mass Communications, for offering such a generous introduction and for supporting my work in bringing these conversations to wider audiences. Grateful to everyone who came out to engage with the book and the ideas it explores. Looking forward to continuing the dialogue about drill music, digital economies, and the complex intersections of race, gender, and media.
